“Three Graces” solo exhibition

According to Greek mythology; Aglaea, Euphrosyne and Thalia were goddesses of charm, beauty and human creativity, among other things. They have been muses for many artists for more than 2500 years. Mythology also says that the Three Graces presided over banquets and gatherings to entertain and delight the gods.

This new collection of artworks by Pichiavo, introduces an artistic study of the Three Graces from different perspectives. The artists depict the three goddesses as a perfect combination of elegance, beauty, movement and classical art excellence focusing in the depth of their attributes. PichiAvo explores the Three Graces in painting, drawing, and sculpture.

Two collections of work (both paintings and drawings) have been conceived to be seen together in a specific order. The sequence of those artworks creates a 360° motion image of the Graces. Through study, the artists transform the drawings and paintings into a 3D form, such as with the creation of a sculpture from a marble stone.

Other artworks raise the issue of separation of matter and divided art pieces, a very common fact often seen in museums due to the display of archeological remains, which invites the viewer to think about the original shape of artworks, reunion of fragments and the ownership of it.

This collection also focuses in various forms of graffiti, a key element in PichiAvo’s art. Each painting of the collection includes a different graffiti background, another important element of PichiAvo’s artistic practice.
